Heidegger's Bible Handbook: 2 Kings: Chronology

4. A history of three hundred and twenty years is narrated in it.

Moreover, the matters conducted of three hundred and twenty years are narrated, which out of this book, in which the years of the Kings are recorded, are able to be gathered with no difficulty. Indeed, Joram reigned twelve years (2 Kings 8:16), Athaliah six (2 Kings 11:3), Jehoash thirty-nine (2 Kings 12:2), Amaziah seventeen (2 Kings 14:2), Uzziah fifty-two (2 Kings 15:2), Jotham fifteen (2 Kings 15:33), Ahaz fourteen (2 Kings 16:2), Hezekiah twenty-nine (2 Kings 18:2), Manasseh fifty-five (2 Kings 21:1), Amon two (2 Kings 21:19), Josiah thirty-one (2 Kings 22:1), Jehoiakim eleven (2 Kings 24:1), Zedekiah eleven (2 Kings 25:1). But thence unto the carrying away of Jehoiachin twenty-six years passed (2 Kings 24:1, compared with 2 Kings 25:25). The sum is brought to three hundred and twenty years.
