Archibald Hall's Gospel Worship: 'The questions about places and times of praying do not require any particular discussion. It is as manifest, that places and times are general and undetermined now; as, that they were particularly appointed under the Old Testament, when men were to pray in or towards the temple, 1 Kings 8 and observed their hours of prayer, Acts 3:1. But, says the apostle, 1 Tim 2:8, "I will that men pray every where;" and 1 Thess 5:17, "Pray without ceasing." Christ, in distinction from the temple at Jerusalem, which was a figure of him that was to come, is our omnipresent temple; and every time is now alike holy.'
