5. The history of one hundred and eighteen years is narrated in it.



In this book is described the history of one hundred and eighteen years. Which sum of years is thus gathered: Solomon reigned over all Israel for forty years (1 Kings 11:42), Rehoboam over the tribe of Judah for seventeen years (1 Kings 14:21), Abijah for three years (1 Kings 15:2), Asa for forty-one years (1 Kings 15:10), Jehoshaphat for seventeen years alone (1 Kings 22:42). The sum total is one hundred and eighteen years. Which sum is also able to be composed from the years of the Kings of Israel, reckoned together with the forty years of Solomon.

Dr. Steven Dilday holds a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Campbell University, a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia), and both a Master of Divinity and a  Ph.D. in Puritan History and Literature from Whitefield Theological Seminary.  He is also the translator of Matthew Poole's Synopsis of Biblical Interpreters and Bernardinus De Moor’s Didactico-Elenctic Theology.
