Hebrew Lesson 1: Why? and How?

Have you ever considered learning Hebrew?

Learning a foreign language does not require genius, but it does require steady and consistent effort. So, why expend the effort?

If you are considering learning Hebrew, it is good to consider your motivations for such an effort, and to fix those motivations in your mind and heart to fuel your effort!

Dr. Dilday's Lecture: "Hebrew: Why? and How?

Thank you for the first lesson, it has certainly wet the appetite for the future lessons to see more of Jesus in the Hebrew OT Scriptures. I had two question: 1 Peter 1:11 speaks of the Spirit of Christ being in the prophets. Does this shed light on a difficult text a few chapters over when it speaks of Christ preaching to the spirits in prison in the days of Noah (preacher of righteousness)? Would it be right to think that the souls in prison are the antediluvian inhabitants hearing the preaching of Christ by the prophet Noah of judgment to come?

Yes. It seems to me that the interpretation of 1 Peter 3 & 4 has gone haywire because the context provide in chapter 1 is ignored. If the model of 1 Peter 1 is used, all of the difficulties in chapters 3 and 4 evaporate.
