Heidegger's Bible Handbook: Micah: Argument

Updated: Jan 2

2.  The argument of the Prophecy.

Micah principally declaims עַל־שֹׁמְר֖וֹן וִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃, against Samaria and Jerusalem (Micah 1:1), and so against the tribe of Judah, and the ten tribes of Israel, and threatens them with destruction on account of their incredibly grievous sins.  He with special severity rebukes the nobles of the Israelites and their Prophets, who were fostering impiety.  Also, after the restoration of Jerusalem, and the coming of Christ to the Temple in it, he promises the propagation of the Church of the New Testament from it to the whole world.
